MANAGER INFORMATION- Fall 2006

Note:  This will be reviewed for updating - Christi

It was a quick winter!  Hopefully you found a way to stay warm!  I have listed below some of the "stuff" you should be taking care of this season.  If you are unsure or have any questions whatsoever - feel free to contact me.  I would be glad to have lunch with you, answer questions over the phone, whatever it takes!  We must keep this simple and FUN :-)

Here are a few of the things you need to take care of:

     1.  Use your manager's money to either purchase or fill up your first aid kit. It is NOT AN OPTION - These kits need to be on the sidelines with your coach at EVERY GAME AND EVERY PRACTICE.  They serve no purpose in your trunk. These first aid kit needs plenty of the break & shake ice bags.

     2.  A new year means new player cards.  I will sign them before I hand them out.  Have the players sign them, get photos of each one and place them in the appropriate spot, and LAMINATE THEM, also, NOT AN OPTION.  Then punch a hole in the corner and put them on a ring.  These cards need to be given to the center ref for player identification before EVERY GAME.  Kids without cards - DO NOT PLAY. (be sure the coach or you gets the cards back after each game... they are a pain to track down if you leave them)  Also, yes, get a coaches photo as well.  More and more tournaments & leagues are requiring the coach photo, so just do it now.  It would not hurt to have yours with a photo, but not a rule yet :-)

     3.  Update your team player book.  Make sure you have a medical form & birth certificate for each player.   If you are missing something - contact the player. Make sure you have your current approved state roster. It does not hurt to have a couple photo copies of the roster in your book.  Most tournaments are not collecting copies as you register on Friday nights.  (PS... the book should be available on the sidelines for every game. NOT IN YOUR CAR.  A ref can ask to see the forms at any time and who wants to wait while it gets dug out of your trunk.  The coach usually has it, but the manager can carry it)

     4.  You will be given money (cash) before the season starts to be used to pay your referees.  You will need to pay the center ref the full amount due BEFORE each HOME game.  (The boys U14 team, Strikers, you pay 1/2 the fees for every game).  More notes and news will come with your money at that time.

E-me or Call me anytime with questions. I will do what I can.

Thanks,

Christi
