COACH'S COMMENTS & STATS:

Warsaw Wave  2
Argos U16    1

A very physical contest between two teams unwilling to back down from each other, is one way to characterize this game.  Chris Bammerlin would end up being the hero of the day as he had a hand in each Wave goal.  The first goal was set up by a throw-in from Bammerlin to an unmarked Tony Perales in the Argos penalty box.  Perales gathered the ball turned on a dime and rocketed a shot into the upper far post corner.  The two teams would play evenly after that goal.  In the 69th minute a ball was played to Jason Scheuer who headed a perfect onto the overlapping run of Matt Granger.  Granger collected the ball and crossed to an onrushing Bammerlin who nodded the ball into the net for the second goal of the game.

Argos fought back and scored a minute later to set up a frantic finish.  Mike Gunderson and Jordan Sharp made critical defense stops to preserve the victory.  Steven Bradican made five saves in goal in recording the win.  Argos out shot Warsaw 14 to 13 for the game.

Warsaw Wave    3
Goshen Stars     2

Horrible weather conditions made beautiful soccer between Goshen and Warsaw impossible.  Playing in winds that gusted up to 40 MPH the Wave forged ahead in the first half as Stuart Hodge tapped in a cross from Jordan Sharp. Goshen fought back to tie the game at one, but Warsaw went back in front off the foot of Tony Perales.  Once again Goshen pulled even with just under five minutes to play.  With a draw seemingly eminent Perales was pulled down in the box and a penalty was awarded.  Perales stepped up and buried the game winner as the final whistle blew giving Warsaw a key NISL league victory.  Steven Bradican made three saves in goal.  The Wave out shot the Stars 16-8 for the game.
