COACH'S COMMENTS & STATS:
Saturday, April 19
We
won our first game against the Goshen Stars 1-0.
Matthew Franco scored a left footed goal.
Jacob Cole had two great saves to keep us in the game.
Everyone on the team played well. New
players Anthony Gagliano and Kyle Moore did well in their first game with the
Warsaw Travel Soccer Club.
Saturday, May 3
We
won 3 to 0 over the Elkhart flames. Jarod
Franklin scored the first goal off of a corner kick from Ian Crines.
The second goal was scored when the goalie deflected a shot to the far
post by Scott Koontz and Noah Price “crashed” the goal to “Pick Up the
Garbage”. The final goal was
scored by Matthew Franco. Jacob
Cole made a save in the last 30 seconds in order to keep the shut out intact.

Jacob Cole kept the shut out intact. So far this season, only one goal
has been allowed by our goalie and his defensive line.
Sunday, May 11
The conditions were extremely
windy, cold and wet. It was like
watching a European match. In the first half, warsaw scored the
first goal when Ryan Lundgren fired a shot that rebounded off a full back and
Chris Sausamon finished it off. The second Warsaw goal came off a corner
kick from Noah Price that resulted in a own goal by FWSC's defense.
FWSC came back with two goals late in the first half: one off a
break away and one off a corner kick. Then in the second half, FWSC scored
the winning goal off a penalty kick.
Sunday, May 18
On
5/18 we played Goshen Stars. Goshen
scored first to put us down 1-0. Late

took Noah Price down in the box. Noah
finished the penalty kick for the equalizer.
The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Our
second game on May 24 was against South Central Premier from Greenwood, IN.
Greenwood scored the opening goal at the 7 minute mark which turned out
to be the winning goal. The final

While
finishing 0-2-1 in the tournament, our team played with great!
They played with the skill, intensity and as a single unit with a desire
to win! I am extremely proud of
their play. This tournament
provided the competition that this team has needed and has proved that they can
play at this level.
