Warsaw Wave    1
Elkhart Flames 1

A tightly played game looked to be heading toward a 0-0 tie, until the 69th minute, when Alex H. made a run down the left side and crossed to an unmarked Stephen W. who redirected the ball into the goal.  The resolve of the Elkhart team did not allow the Wave to escape with victory as just forty seconds later an equalizer was scored.  A let down in defense allowed an Elkhart player a free shot from eight yards out.  Despite being badly outplayed in the first half Warsaw was able to turn the game around in the second half of play.  The Wave out shot Elkhart 8-2 in the second half, for the game Elkhart out-shot Warsaw 14-10.  Justin E. excellent play in goal was highlighted by a season high 7 saves for the game.  Both teams came away from the game still undefeated.

Warsaw Wave          3
South Bend Jr. Irish 2

Jordan S. got things going for the Wave as he scored a pair of goals in the first half.  The first was a far post shot on the ground off a beautiful pass from Kyle B.  Jordan's second goal was created by his own hustle.  He stole the ball at midfield then dribbled down and chipped the ball over the onrushing keeper's head.  A bad second half of play allowed the Irish to creep back into the game, but Katy T. scored the game winning goal by knocking in a free kick taken by Alex H.  A good run to the far post by Katy allowed her to knock the ball into the back of the net.  Warsaw out-shot the Jr. Irish 12-7, in recording the win.

Warsaw Wave               1
Duneland Cheeze Town Rats 1

Great goalkeeping and a little luck were enough to keep Warsaw undefeated in NISL league play.  Hustle allowed Jordan S. to score off of an assist from Dustin J.  Dustin took a shot that deflected off of the keeper and Jordan who was following up on the play was able to knock home the
rebound for the game's first goal.  Duneland struck back late in the first half to tie the game.  The second half was played very evenly, but a shot by Duneland midway through the second half beat goalkeeper Justin E., but the post kept the ball from going into the net.  Justin E. came up big for Warsaw having his best game in goal, while recording a season high eight saves.  For the game Duneland out shot the Wave 16 to 9.

shots, but only scored on a penalty kick late in the game.  Griffin F. won the penalty when he dribbled to the endline and attempted a cross, while crossing the ball he was pushed to the ground by a Magic defender.  Jordan S. converted the penalty kick.  Jordan is leading the team in goals
scored.  Warsaw's record moves to 3-0-3 on the season.

Warsaw Wave            2
Lakeland Christian JV  2

An exhibition game between the Warsaw Wave and Lakeland Christian Academy's JV team resulted in a tie.  Playing against players bigger and faster theWave showed no intimidation and held much of the possession for the game.
However, they did go down a goal in the first half when Cougar forward Kyle Schang scored on an empty net.  A shot hit the crossbar and Schang was open at the far post to knock the ball in.  Showing great resolve Warsaw fought
back and tied the game just five minutes into the second half.  The goal came from a corner when Dustin Johnson crossed to an unmarked Stephen Wright who blasted the ball into the back of the net.  Pressing for a go-ahead goal the Wave were rewarded as a defensive blunder allowed a hustling Katie Taylor to slot a ball past the Lakeland keeper.  The Wave played defensively for the last twenty minutes of the game, but were unable to keep the Cougars from tying the game.  Just five minutes from time Dan Yocum took a shot from 35 yards out that found the goal, and tied the game at two.  The Wave were a little lucky as minutes later a shot from Lakeland forward Evan Pickens hit the crossbar and bounced away.  Warsaw was playing without injured keeper
Justin Evans.  The Wave was out shot 18 to 11 for the game.  With this result the Warsaw Wave still remains undefeated on the season.

Goals:
LCA goal Kyle Schang assisted by Scott Johnson in the 24th minute

Wave goal Stephen Wright assisted by Dustin Johnson in the 40th minute

Wave goal Katie Taylor assisted by Alex Hall in the 46th minute

LCA goal Dan Yocum unassisted in the 65th minute

Warsaw Wave      2
Inner City Pumas 2

Playing against the undefeated and untied Pumas the Wave played a strong game.  Warsaw started slow giving up a goal and not creating many chances offensively in the first half.  But in the second half Warsaw played well scoring on two opportunities and just missing a third.  Jordan Sharp got
things started as he converted on a penalty kick for a foul committed on Stephen Wright.  This tied the game at one, but minutes later the Pumas scored on an incredible shot to the far post off of a corner kick.  Showing their resilience Warsaw fought back to tie the game at two.  A long ball
played to Alex Hall was kick saved by the keeper, but it went directly to Dustin Johnson who crossed the ball back to Hall who put a shot in from twenty yards away.  Warsaw would have won the game if it hadn't been for an incredible save by the Pumas keeper on a Stephen Wright shot destined for the near post corner.  Griffin Fuller played a great game in goal filling in for the injured Justin Evans.  He made eight saves in the game, as the Pumas out shot Warsaw 18 to 9.  The Wave ends regular season play undefeated with a record of 3-0-4.

Goals:
Pumas #9 in the 25th minute
Jordan Sharp (PK) in the 50th minute
Pumas #9 in the 55th minute
